Shorncliffe Sunrise

Visited a new spot that I haven't been to before at Shorncliffe and thankfully it paid off. Located halfway between the old pier and Baxters Jetty is a rocky wonderland; a photographers delight everywhere you turn. Add to that a cracking sunrise and I am one very happy guy this morning.

New lens test at Brighton

I headed down to Brighton this morning to test out my new Nikon 18-35G lens on the D610. I headed to a few spots around Redcliffe and Woody Point before settling in at the western end of the Hornibrook Bridge. The sun put on a great show throwing a fair bit of colour into the clouds before the rain set in on the horizon.

The first shot was taken with just grad filters and the second was shot using an ND400 filter to blur the clouds and water giving a completely different feel to the morning.

Story Bridge, Brisbane | Sunrise

I had an early start and needed to pick up some materials for work around Hendra so I headed in super early to Wilsons Outlook a the top of Bowen Terrace overlooking the Story Bridge. I set up my Nodal Ninja to take a series of panoramas, I especially like this one as the sky was just changing and the stars were still visible in the sky.

It took about 30 minutes for my fingers to thaw once I was back in the car.

Kurilpa Bridge and Brisbane City Sunrise

I had an early start in the city this morning and just had to stop and capture this scene on the way past.  I pulled into the GOMA precinct and found a carpark under the Goodwill Bridge near the Dairy and ran up the stairs and back to the middle of the bridge.

This is the Kurilpa Bridge spanning from the GOMA across the Brisbane River to the CBD.  The Infinity Building on the left is Brisbane's tallest building at 249m.

Ningi Esplanade

I headed out in the morning to capture a sunrise at Ningi on the way to Bribie Island. I had seen some little jetties on google maps so just following a whim.

It was a lovely morning, the colours in the sky were nice but no clouds. I drove to the spot I had viewed on Google Maps and tried a few spots in the dark to try and get the best angles.

Anzac Day Sunrise Redcliffe

I got up nice and early this morning for the dawn service at Redcliffe, a perfect opportunity to capture a sunrise and play around with my nodal ninja panoramic head.
